Why I Give

By now, you have probably received a letter or two from Foundation regarding the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is used to maintain Phi Mu as a strong, leading organization in all aspects. Phi Mus financially support the Annual Fund for a variety of reasons. Read on for comments from a few of our donors on why they choose to give back to Phi Mu.

“By far, the most important thing to me is to continue to support educational programming for our collegians,” said Lindsay Bagnall, Rho, a regular donor to Foundation’s Annual Fund. “When I had the opportunity to serve as Panhellenic Adviser for the University of Missouri-Rolla, I saw first-hand how chapters benefited from programs on alcohol awareness, like the new AlcoholEdu currently being offered through Phi Mu. Phi Mu Foundation makes it possible for important information such as this to reach our young women.”

As a new donor to the annual fund this year, Jennifer Williams, Nu, said, “I believe it is important to give back to Phi Mu through the Foundation because each year we add more and more wonderful women to our Sisterhood. As alumnae, we need to do our part to secure the future of Phi Mu so that they can enjoy the benefits of our Fraternity.”

California resident Anne Thompson, Eta Alpha, gives to Foundation because, “Phi Mu has always been such an important part of my life. My mom is a Phi Mu as well as my sister. I have so many special Phi Mu friends; it is just natural for me to give back to the organization that has meant so much to me.”

The Annual Fund provides unrestricted monies that can be used for everything from providing the alcohol education programs on college campuses to leadership training for alumnae. It provides funding to administer the scholarship program and Headquarters office. The Annual Fund also allows grants to be made to the Fraternity for a wide range of educational and leadership services.

Phi Mu Foundation lends critical support to the Fraternity, but it simply does not have the resources to mail donation requests or make telephone calls to every collegiate and alumnae member.
