Phi Mu Represented at CMN Celebration
Members of the Alpha Lambda Chapter at Louisiana Tech University and Oklahoma City Alumnae Chapter joined Phi Mu Foundation’s CMN Chairman, Mary Ganim, ΔΦ, for the annual CMN Celebration at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
“CMN Celebration is a unique opportunity for the sponsors to meet directly with CMN’s miracle children,” said Mary. “It really brings home the reason we work so hard to raise fund for CMN.”
The Phi Mus who accompanied Mary to Florida were from some of the leading collegiate and alumnae chapters in raising funds for CMN. Alpha Lambda collegians Amanda Farris, Ashley Payne and Oklahoma alumna Kathy Blevins had the opportunity to mingle with children and their families, other sponsors, media personalities and CMN representatives. “It is our hope that Amanda, Ashley and Kathy will return to their chapters with an even greater excitement for CMN and that those chapters will continue to increase their support for our philanthropy,” said Mary.
Vice President of Philanthropy Cindy Lowden, ΓΕ, agrees, “Partnering with CMN is our opportunity to give back to people who can’t help themselves. We work to instill the importance of community service in our Phi Mu Sisters when they pledge.”
In 2006, Phi Mu raised over $500,000 for CMN. During our 20-year partnership with the charity, more that $6.5 million dollars has been raised by Phi Mus. “The great thing about CMN is that the dollars raised go right back into the community – to the local CMN hospital – for research, new equipment, new programs, any improvement that the hospital needs,” said Mary.
